Many of us have heroes and role-models, whether in the sporting world, or in the entertainment industry, political arena, or within academia. As Christians, we also need to have men and women of faith who can inspire us to go on in God, press through obstacles and disappointments, and help us fulfil our destiny and God-given assignment on earth.
When it comes to God fulfilling His great ambition of having a family made up of people from every tribe, tongue, people group and nation, we certainly need to be helped by the lives of men and women who have blazed the trail and pioneered in missions.
WHERE ARE the men and women of God who are willing to give their lives for the cause of Christ?
WHERE ARE those who are prepared to take some risks... ...encounter some challenges... ...step out of their comfort zone and place of familiarity... ...reach out to those of a different language and culture... ...and use their faith in seeing people groups reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ?
"Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: 'Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?' Then I said, 'Here am I! Send me.'" (Isaiah 6:8)
WHO will have the guts and courage to say, 'Lord, send me'?
We hope as you read about the lives of the following 'Missionary Catalysts' you will be inspired and challenged to be all that God is calling you to be as you rise up and play your part in completing our Lord's final command - The Great Commission!
Many of the pioneers that initiated the rise of Protestant missions following the revivals in the 18th Century came from the British Isles. It is time this nation returned to its missionary heritage and roots and joined with others around the world in seeing the completion of the Great Commission so that our Lord can return.
