"My house shall be called a house of prayer for all 'ethnos' (lit. peoples)." (Mark 11:17)
Try to imagine what it must be like to have never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. To start each day having never even heard of the name of Jesus. To have never been told that there is a way to receive eternal life.
CHINA UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUP
THE DE'ANG
The De'ang (pronounced 'Der-ung') reside in both SW China and Myanmar (Burma). Until recently there were no known De'ang Christians in China. Some have now professed Christianity. However, they are still an Unreached People Group (UPG), trapped in fear to demons and shamans (witch-doctors), without hope in this life or in the one to come. The De'ang are Buddhists and animists.
There are some De'ang believers in Myanmar. Pray that they will be strong and empowered to take the gospel to those in SW China who have never heard, and that a De'ang church would be established. Pray also for those new De'ang believers in China and for the very few missionaries working among them.
Is this an UPG you and/or your church could begin praying for? If you are already praying for the De'ang or would like to begin praying, please let us know and we will seek to provide you with the latest developments among this precious people.
UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUP IN CHINA/VIETNAM
THE MANG
Do we really believe that the most primitive tribe in the remotest corner of the earth is as important to God as our own nation? Are we in the UK only occupied with people like ourselves? Could there be a subtle, sub-conscious belief that we are more important than people from other nations? Are we truly concerned whether other nations and peoples have heard the gospel or even had access to it once in their life-time?
The Mang people live in China and Vietnam with less than 500 of them in China. They are not Chinese and very few speak the Chinese language. They do not know where they come from and have no celebrations. Poor and primitive, they have no contact with the outside world. They did not even know they had over 2000 Mang relatives across the mountains in Vietnam 50 kilometres away! They have no electricity and no schools. Their world is full of evil spirits who must be continually appeased. They despise themselves and "have no reason to live except to survive." They have never heard the gospel and are in desperate need of practical help.1
You and your church could pray for the Mang or an Unreached People Group in another country or in your own community. What nation will you reach out to with God's blessing?
